Everyone dreams of owning a spacious villa home where you can sit out on the porch and read the morning paper with the chirping of birds to keep you company. The sight of fresh dew on the lawn and the peace and quiet that should be yours to enjoy and rejuvenate the soul…. These are what make a home your own special piece of heaven on earth.
Choosing Trivandrum or Thiruvananthapuram city for your new home is a great choice. This gracious city, spread out over seven hills with many historical as well as modern localities makes up the capital city of Kerala, the land of greenery, golden beaches and abundant coconut groves. The city provides great infrastructure and with the numerous schools, colleges and multi-specialty hospitals, Trivandrum is an ideal place to bring up your family.
When going home shopping, you need to keep a few important points in your mind, with the most important being the location. Though living in the city center might appear exciting at first glance, you really wouldn’t want to be stuck living in an area that’s full of traffic and its associated noise and air pollution. Even though Trivandrum is a beautiful city without the usual traffic problems encountered in most other cities, this important capital city is still in its growing phase. With every year the city is expanding its tentacles further to include more localities into its folds. Prices of properties are also lower here as compared to other cities.
So if you have decided that a spacious villa is what you need to complete your life, look towards areas in the city that are a little away from the inner fringes, like Ulloor, Aakkulam or even Mangalapuram – which is about a 20 minutes breezy drive from the famous hotspot, the Techno Park. Though these areas come within the city limits, they are removed from the usual hustle-bustle that goes with the city center and are relatively calm and peaceful. These are also the prime areas where the elegant and the accomplished prefer to live.
But if you are of a mind to live close to the city center, then some of the best locations would be Pattom and Kowdiar. Located just about 4km from the city center, Pattom is largely a quiet residential area and easily accessible by all parts of the city being the point of an important intersection of four major roads from NH 47 to north Kerala, Trivandrum international airport, Trivandrum central railway station as well as the road leading to Kowdiar palace. Pattom is named after Kerala’s second chief minister and is home to numerous administrative offices and business establishments. The cost of homes here is still reasonable as compared to Kowdiar which is comparatively higher, closer to the city center and an abode of the rich.
Ulloor and Aakkulam are relatively calm, peaceful, greener and mainly residential areas. Ulloor junction is the intersecting point of 4 important roads that connects to Aakkulam as well as to the rest of the city. A 5 to 10-minute drive from these locations gets you to the shopping centers, hospitals and major schools and colleges, making it a prime location for homebuyers. They are also close to Techno Park, one of the country’s biggest IT centers.
And for now, properties come better priced in these locations, so why waste time when this is the best time to buy!
